To Kill?
a Mockingbird?
Can you gather anything from the title?
How many ways can you kill something? Kill a person, kill an idea, a dream, a spirit...
Mockingbird? What does that have to do with anything?

I think this is a very interesting question.....
It really makes you look for context clues within the novel that might lead to the answer..
I have already read the book so i know that it gives a little information about the phrase "To Kill A Mockingbird."
You'll just have to read to figure it out :)
Happy reading everyone..
I dont understand the title of this book at all. But judging by past books i have read with random titles it was either written before i was born or a cheesey sci-fi movie. I can't say i know much about what the book will be about either...it takes me a while to catch onto the plot of a book in general
guess ill just have to wait and see.......
Yes, that is very interesting. Well maybe a Mocking bird might appear later on in the book. Also a Mocking bird might be symbolic of something. We just have to read on and figure it out.
My guess, not that it is intellectual in any way, is that the "mocking bird" represents a person. Proably a very obvious statement, but what I am getting at is that this person is probably a significant character. Maybe the mockingbird symbolizes Boo Radley, and what their trying to kill is his reputation.?? I'm not positive, but if I were a betting person, then that is what I'd guess.
Well, when you think of a mockingbird, you probably think of an when a sibling or cousin (or anyone for that matter) repeats what you say loudly, obnoxiously, and usually in a sarcastic tone.... and it is really annoying, right?
So could we not then link the word "mockingbird" to an issue in the story (which we have yet to discover)?? It could be slavery or racism, or whatever, which may have annoyed the citizens, the victims themselves, etc.
So could it possibly mean putting an end to the mockery of the issue in the novel?
(I hope that makes sense)
Just my two cents but my guess is as good as anyone else's.....
