"What happens behind closed doors"
Do you remember this Quote: " 'You reckon he's crazy?' Miss Maudie shook her head. ' If he's not crazy he should be now. The things that happen to people we never really know. What happens in houses behind closed doors- what secerts-"(46). Miss Madudie is very wise, because people's home lives no one really knows what happens. You can't really judge someone unless you walk in there shoes or (as Scout says) jump into someones skin.

I agree completely! She is very wise! This applies so much today as it did in the past... I mean, you can't judge a book by it's cover. Just like you can't judge a persons home life by how they act at school. Someone couls be totally normal at school, but they could go home and be living in a torture zone... you never know! This just goes to show that we should be kind to everyone... and not judge, we never knoe who might need the cheerful smile!
I am glad you pointed that out. I really respect and like Miss Maudie as a character. The way she handled the fire was pretty amazing seeing as back in those days houses and such were one of the few possesions you had.
